RYAN MONTBLEAU BAND

RYAN MONTBLEAU A relentless road warrior and masterful wordsmith, Ryan Montbleau has spent the better part of thirty years cultivating a devoted audience on the strength of his ecstatic live shows and exhilarating sonic versatility. He’s collaborated with artists as diverse as Trombone Shorty, Galactic, Steel Pulse, Tall Heights, Martin Sexton, Anders Osborne, and George Porter, Jr; shared bills with the likes of Tedeschi Trucks Band, Ani DiFranco, Todd Snider, The Wood Brothers, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Mavis Staples; and racked up more than 150 million streams on Spotify alone. NPR’s Mountain Stage compared his “eloquent, soulful songwriting” to Bill Withers and James Taylor, while Relixcelebrated his “poetic Americana,” and The Boston Herald raved that “he’s made a career of confident, danceable positivity.” Montbleau’s freewheeling new album finds him exploring the full spectrum of his influences like never before, touching on folk, rock, funk, soul, hip-hop, and reggae, all with a preternatural ease that belies the intensely focused craftsmanship behind it. The songs are sprawling and unpredictable, grappling with a modern world perpetually teetering on the edge of chaos, but the performances are relentlessly optimistic, insisting on hope and joy in the face of it all. The result is Montbleau’s most vulnerable and cathartic work yet, an album that acknowledges the inevitability of doubt and pain while at the same time celebrating our limitless capacity for growth and love.

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the National Kidney Foundation. The National Kidney Foundation is revolutionizing the fight to save lives by eliminating preventable kidney disease, accelerating innovation for the dignity of the patient experience, and dismantling structural inequities in kidney care, dialysis, and transplantation. https://www.kidney.org About the Crowns Equal parts Rockabilly, Punk Rock, and Rock N Roll, the Crowns exploded onto an unsuspecting Rhode Island scene in late 1993 and wasted no time in hitting the road with their raw, hyper-kinetic sing-alongs and their explosive live show. The self-described punkabilly band toured the world for the next 8 years. The Crowns often shared the stage with label mates Social Distortion & Reverend Horton Heat, as well as other artists like The Cramps, X, Tiger Army, Hank III, The Damned, The Specials, Dropkick Murphys, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Supersuckers, Rocket From The Crypt, The Misfits, and many more. Throughout their career, The Crowns released multiple singles, EPs, and 3 full-length albums. They have recorded music on various labels (Sub Pop, Time Bomb, and BMG to name a few) and have toured the world numerous times. They’ve endured lawsuits, broken bones, accidents, and band fights all in the name of blood, sweat & grease, and they haven’t regretted a second of any of it. The Crowns are playing their first headlining show in New England since 2001, and they’re bringing back their annual Providence Payback festival at the same time! The Payback fest was a yearly event that the band would host at Lupo’s and the Met as a thank you to, and a party for their fans. The fest ran from 1996-2001 and featured many national and local bands. Always a fun time, expect to see various genres of music and maybe some surprises!

THE Nth POWER

Proving that soul music can be exponentially greater than the sum of its parts, The Nth Power is on a mission to share the light. Formed during an impromptu late-night jam at Jazz Fest 2012 in New Orleans, the relentlessly funky and soulful band believes in music as a higher power tapping into an energy that is simultaneously sexy and spiritual, with songs that will inspire audiences to dance, groove, make love or just stand there with goose bumps. The trio hails from diverse musical backgrounds, races and creeds. Female powerhouse Nikki Glaspie was Beyonce’s world-touring drummer for five years before she joined Ivan Nevilles New Orleans funk outfit, Dumpstaphunk. Bassist Nate Edgar of Groovechild and John Browns Body perfectly compliments singer and guitarist Nick Cassarino who came from the Jennifer Hartswick Band and toured with Big Daddy Kane. The Nth Power’s 2013 independent EP, Basic Minimum Skills Test, showcases a first glimpse of the spark shared among the group, delivering gospel-style vocals with soul, jazz, funk and world-beat riffs in nearly mathematical fashion. They have followed up that release with a studio album in 2015 “Abundance” produced by Ira Schickman and live release “To Be Free” in 2016 recorded and mixed by Paul Diaz. The Nth Power’s inspirational sets have floored audiences at music festivals like Electric Forest, Bear Creek, Catskill Chill and North Coast Music Festival. The band has been relentlessly touring and writing for the past 4 years since their inception and continue to grow in their mission as they spread love and healing through music across the land. Although the band members are based across the East Coast, they maintain New Orleans as their spiritual home, and the celebratory essence of that city’s music culture is audible in each performance. Together, The Nth Power wants to change lives through a message of musical love and understanding
