Mystic Dead is a premier six-piece Grateful Dead tribute band based out of Mystic, Connecticut. Dedicated to capturing the sonic depth, psych-rock experimentation, and Americana roots of the legendary jam band, they have built a strong regional following across southern New England.
Mystic Dead is highly regarded for its jam-forward, spontaneous live sets. Rather than offering a rigid, note-for-note replication of studio albums, the band prioritizes the Grateful Dead's ethos of long-form, real-time improvisation. Their performances fuse rock, folk, blues, and psychedelia, allowing individual members to bring their own creative identity to classics like "Althea," "China Cat Sunflower," and "Uncle John's Band".
